New Markets and External Affairs, Stripe
Sarah Heck leads new markets and external affairs for Stripe Atlas, a division of Stripe focused on supporting entrepreneurs in the U.S. and around the world to start and grow businesses. She also serves as an advisor on international entrepreneurship and youth programs to the Obama Foundation. Sarah served as Director for Global Engagement on the National Security Council at the White House where she worked on global entrepreneurship policy, private sector engagement, youth demographics, and expanding the impact of U.S. public diplomacy on national security. Prior to this appointment Sarah worked at the State Department serving as Chief of Staff for the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, Special Assistant to the Special Representative to Muslim Communities working on countering violent extremism strategies, in the Office of 21st Century Statecraft, and the Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs.
Before joining government, Sarah worked at Kissinger McLarty Associates, supporting the international work of Fortune 500 companies across industries. Sarah also work with Amigos de las Americas, where she served as their Country Director in Paraguay, creating and managing rural community development and youth entrepreneurship and leadership projects.
Sarah is a graduate of Georgetown University and the University of Maryland. She is a Truman National Security Project Fellow, Council on Foreign Relations Term Member, and serves on the board of Young Professionals in Foreign Policy.
